We continue to grow and today are looking for a committed, talented, star to join our team as our Accounting Coordinator- AR.

Position Summary/Objective:

As the Accounting Coordinator for A/R & Treasury, you will be responsible for performing full cycle accounts receivable – invoicing, collection, credit, reconciliation and banking, as well as full-cycle treasury, including bank reconciliations. The Accounting Coordinator (A/R & Treasury) may also assist the finance department in other areas relating to treasury management, preparing journal entries, assisting in financial reporting and month-end working papers.

The Accounting Coordinator (A/R & Treasury) plays a critical role in supporting the Finance department to ensure that all accounting processes and documentation are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile accounts receivable and follow up on past due accounts
  • Reconcile receipts to sales invoices and to the accounts receivable schedule
  • Reconcile & clear trade spend deductions, such as manufacturer chargebacks, sales discounts and promotional items with the support of the trade spend validation team
  • Reconcile & validate short shipments & shipping related fines with the support of the distribution team
  • Reconcile & post e-commerce payments
  • Deposit cash receipts
  • Issue Credit notes or invoice corrections as required
  • For certain accounts; create and issue sales invoices to customers, resolve issues
  • Manage credit applications and new account administration
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for the company’s group of bank accounts, including Riverside Natural Foods Ltd , RNF Inc and RNF Pet Products
  • Prepare manual journal entries to reconcile bank transactions
  • Create recurring journal entry templates to support the bank reconciliation process
  • Support in the preparation of month-end and year-end working papers
  • Perform & Reconcile weekly and monthly intercompany transactions
  • Maintain customer files
  • Prepare & Support sales tax filing schedules
  • Keeps the work atmosphere FUN by keeping it light and welcoming
  • Assist in other finance duties as required

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business or a related field
  • Related work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong computer skills, intermediate level or above for Microsoft Office 2007 Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Familiarity with accounting software packages, including SAP
  • Able to work efficiently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced business environment
  • Excellent planning, organizing, multitasking and time management skills
  • A collaborative approach to work and a high level of initiative and Adaptability
  • Demonstrates HUMILITY throughout the company on a daily basis
  • Aptitude to exhibit, RESPECT and protect Riverside’s Core Values in a changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; good mathematical skills
  • Strong understanding of business processes
